Today's Issue
Trans
Trans is an umbrella term often used in a more vague sense by individuals and groups who identify as having tendencies that diverge from the normative gender roles.

The "Trans Youth Network" is a good example of how the term "Trans" has been used recently to describe a number of different, but in some ways united communities.

Transgender is a more formal, recognised term and is used by both people who do and do not intend to 'change' their birth gender. You can read about it in this article.

Gender-Queer is slightly different and is often used confusingly but in general describes someone who does not identify as male or female. It is also used to describe more political thinking, activist type queers who celebrate LGBT solidarity.
