Organised by the owners of 'purple radio', the 24 hour
digital and internet gay and lesbian dance station that
launched in 2001, Purple in the park will open it's gates in
the summer of 2002 at Brixton's Brockwell park in June.
Top Club tents at the event include Candy Bar, Popstarz,
DTPM, Heaven, Trade and G.A.Y to name just a few.
Purple aims to be very club orientated so a rivalry with
Mardi Gras (now at the same venue only a month later)
seems to have diminished. The 50,000 people expected to
attend the event will converge on the South London
venue on June 1st.
Admission to Purple in the Park is a fair £15, which is great
considering the festival shall go on into the night and also
includes free entry to many of the clubs involved later on
in the day. Policing is expected to be very tight so make
sure you're all legal when you get there so no happy pills!
Tickets can by ordered on: 0845 602 4486
